It’s almost mothersday! I’m always clueless and not always sure what I have to get for my mother on mothersday. She likes drinking coffee a lot and I always end up with a big coffee cup for her as a present. But then I realized, she likes to have a little drink in the weekends with her boyfriend or girl friends. Amarula is the perfect drink!

What is Amarula? Amarula is an exotic cream drink made of the Marula fruit. The exotic marula fruit is found only on the sub-Saharan plains of Africa, where it grows in the wild for just a few weeks of the year. It’s rich in vitamin C, potassium, calcium and magnesium, as well as protein. Today marula trees grow abundantly in the wild and are found in many parts of South Africa (Kruger National Park). They are also plentiful in Botswana, Swaziland, Namibia and Zimbabwe.

Marula tastes like citrus and nuts together! Such a unique combination. The marula fruit looks yellow from the outside, but it has an oval light brown nut on the inside.

You can make different kinds of recepts with the marula drink. for example, use it for your; coffee, chocolate drink or make tasteful cocktails! You can even make food recepts and desserts with the marula drink.
